ExactApply Winterization Procedure

Front Fill (if equipped):

  1. Open front fill isolation valve and use front fill purge valve to push any water in front fill hose into the solution tank
  2. Drain the rinse tank using the rinse tank fill valve
  3. Operate the educator function and transfer any educator hopper water to the solution tank
  4. Empty the Solution tank water by opening the solution tank fill valve to let the water escape
  5. Completely empty the rinse tank water by using th eboom rinse function and sprating the rinse tank water out until you lose spray pressure at the boom
  6. Air Purge booms and drain all filters
  7. Fill the rinse tank with 190 L (50 gal) of winterization fluid. R/V (Propylene Glycol based) antifreeze or JD Winterize Fluid available in 9.46 L (2.5 gal) jugs (N305634) or 208 L (55 gal) drums (TY26555)

Automated Solution Command:

Perform a system rinse. (see Operate Rinse System in Solution Command System Operation section. The following systems are rinsed:
_____Educator
NOTE: When rinsing educator operator must manually open educator rinse and sump valves when display shows that portion of the rinse cycle. Boom is rinsed when rinse solution is sprayed off at the end of procedure
_____Agitation
_____Bypass
_____Solution Tank
_____Boom

After rinse procedure is complete, unfold boom, and spray rinse solution in a safe location where contamination cannot occur on manual spray pressure of 40psi.

Note: If caps are installed on nozzle turret, remove caps during this process & reinstall after completion

******You must perform A and B separately to allow for winterizer fluid to fill internal cavities. ******

  1. For high flow solution pump machines: verify that the flowmeter valve is in the “Open” position.
  2. Open the orifice valve.
  3. Set the system up for a combined A/B Mode and position the Nozzle Turret so that 1, 2, or 3 rotated to the front of the nozzle body. This ensures all internal passages of fluid flow are flushed and ready for winter storage.
  4. Perform a boom rinse procedure to spray winterize fluid through both A and B ports. If turrets are in separated position(recommended) (1, 2, or 3 forward): Spray, and verify, from A until see RV from all nozzle bodies. Then spray from B until verified RV is coming from all nozzle bodies Note both A and B ports must have a nozzle size selected to be able to spray.

If equipped with fence row nozzles, select the fence row nozzles and spray through one or both fence row nozzles until winterize fluid is coming out of the nozzle location.

If equipped with boom air purge, use this function to remove excess winterizer fluid form the boom plumbing. Drain remaining winterizer on the ground and drain solution pump from drain valve on pump.
